Freeport Container Port Operations 1 team victorious

Freeport, The Bahamas, November 4, 2015 - Freeport Container Port (FCP), Freeport Harbour Company (FHC) and Grand Bahama Airport Company’s annual Health and Safety Week took place from 23rd to  30th October with a range of activities that aimed to educate employees on the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to seminars on topics such as healthy eating, one of the week’s highlights was the 3rd Annual Softball Tournament, which took place from 23-24 October at the Grand Bahama Sports Complex. Six teams participated with the grand final taking place between 2 teams FCP Operations 1 and FCP Operations 2.

The wining team FCP Operations 1, led by FCP Operations Supervisor Natasha Bain, took a 9-6 victory.  Marlyn Ferguson made a huge impact in the win for the FCP Operation 1 team, and was 3 for 3 at the plate, with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI’s. Dave Pinder was the winning pitcher while Laban Macintosh was tagged with the loss.  According to the Tournament Coordinator Sherlen Williams, “the tournament was great and well supported by fans; we are looking forward to next year.”
