Hutchison brings 'new life' to Classic Dancers

[Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, Monday, 6th July 2015] -  Keenly aware of culture being a key component to boost the positive development of communities and by extension nation building, we at Hutchison Port Holdings Business Units are pleased to have made a donation to the New Life Classic Dancers Junkanoo Group this past week.  Junkanoo is representative of what is uniquely Bahamian, seemingly ageless and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike from all walks of life. Since 1984, the Classic Dancers Junkanoo Group has contributed much to the advancement of young people who are passionate about music, dance, the construction of costumes, entertainment and the arts generally. We remain impressed by how the involvement of Junkanoo inspires young people and adults to excel in their scholastic and professional pursuits.

We wish to commend the Classic Dancers for years of great performances on Grand Bahama Island and creating an environment particularly for our youth that teaches and demands discipline and offers constructive and productive life lessons.  It is our hope that this donation will prove helpful with the acquisition of added equipment and materials to maintain and improve the group's high standards. Hutchison Port Holdings Business Units remain committed to those programs and events that bode well for a progressive Bahamas.  We wish leader Ken Ferguson and members of the New Life Classic Dancers Junkanoo Group continued success.
